Bobby Broom’s “My Shining Hour” Named Album of the Year, Dips to 15 on JazzWeek Poll

CHICAGO (IL) – 11.03.14 – Bobby Broom’s “My Shining Hour” (MSH) (Origin, 2014)  featuring The Bobby Broom Trio, which includes Broom, bassist Dennis Caroll, and drummer Makaya McCraven, was named the #1 Album of 2014 by the Jazz Blog Jazzploration! The song “Sweet and Lovely” was the #7 song of 2014.

Record Collector News released a review of MSH at the end of October. “[W]hat is likely to be the most satisfying album you will hear this year,” said RCN’s Armand Lewis.

The album dipped to #15 for the week of November 3rd, 2014, after rising up to #9 last week from #19 the previous week on the JazzWeek charts.

“My Shining Hour” is available at all major record retailers, at iTunes and Amazon.com.
