Bobby Broom’s “My Shining Hour” Up 10 to #9 on JazzWeek 10.27.14 Chart

Bobby Broom’s hit release, “My Shining Hour” climbed up to #9 for the week of 10.27. 14, according to JazzWeek, which surveys North America’s jazz radio stations. The album is up 10 into the Top 10 again, after having dropped out for the first time in over a month to 19 last week. “My Shining Hour,” a Renaissance album of tunes from The Great American Songbook, has spent seven of its 10 weeks in the top 10, with two weeks at #3.

The recording was done using old-school recording techniques and laid down on to eight track tape. Bassist Dennis Carroll and drummer Makaya McCraven contribute to The Bobby Broom Trio’s recording in a smooth, and seamless whole.

The trio will be playing music from the album at The Jazz Showcase in Chicago at 8p. & 10p. November 14-16, with a 4:00p. early show on Sunday the 16th.
