INDIANAPOLIS (IN) – The Bobby Broom Trio will be appearing at The Jazz Kitchen on Saturday, October 18th for two shows at 7:30p & 9:30p. Broom has had a great 2014. He earned his third DownBeat Critics Poll nod as one of the top Jazz guitarists in the world in a row in June. In July he launched into a 52 city tour of North America, opening for the Steely Dan Jamalot Ever After Tour with the Bobby Broom Organi-Sation, his organ trio featuring Ben Paterson on organ, Makaya McCraven or Kobie Watkins on drums. In August, he released “My Shining Hour” (ORIGIN, 2014), featuring The Bobby Broom Trio (Broom with Dennis Carroll on bass and Makaya McCraven on drums), which debuted at 41 on the JazzWeek chart, sold out all of its first run of CDs within the first nine days, and soared up to #5. Currently the album has been at #3 for the last two weeks, and has spent six of its eight weeks in the JazzWeek Top 10.
As the Fall leaves drop, Broom heads into the Midwest with his primary group, The Bobby Broom Trio. Audiences in Indy who missed his opening act for Steely Dan will be lucky enough to catch him this time at The Jazz Kitchen. Tickets are $15.00. Shows at 7:30p & 9:30p.
