NEW YORK (NY) – One of the world’s top Jazz guitarists, Bobby Broom, brings his group, The Bobby Broom Trio (2014 #3 JazzWeek Hit Album, “My Shining Hour”) returns to his New York City roots for a one night engagement as part of the Truth Revolution Records/Musiqhaus Management 2015 Music Showcase at the Zinc Bar at 82 W. 3rd Street. The showcase begins at 7:00p. and features artists from both TRR and Musiqhaus. Bobby is a Musiqhaus artist. His trio features the great Chicago bassist Dennis Carroll, and rising star Makaya McCraven on drums. The Trio’s set runs from 8:00p. – 8:30p.
Bobby Broom’s “My Shining Hour” shines into the holiday as one of the hottest holiday gifts for both Jazz fans, and for those who might be “Jazz curious.” Released in August, the album sold out on CD in its first nine days. It hit the top 10 in its third week, and then took off from there. Two weeks at #5 on the JazzWeek rankings. Two weeks at #3. Even when it rolled down into the top 20, it soared back up to #9 the following week.
In the last three weeks, “My Shining Hour” has been named the #1 album by audiophile favorite “Something Else! Reviews” in their “Best of 2014” and it was the #1 album of the year for the jazz blog Jazzploration!

CHICAGO (IL) – 11.03.14 – Bobby Broom’s “My Shining Hour” (MSH) (Origin, 2014) featuring The Bobby Broom Trio, which includes Broom, bassist Dennis Caroll, and drummer Makaya McCraven, was named the #1 Album of 2014 by the Jazz Blog Jazzploration! The song “Sweet and Lovely” was the #7 song of 2014.
Record Collector News released a review of MSH at the end of October. “[W]hat is likely to be the most satisfying album you will hear this year,” said RCN’s Armand Lewis.
The album dipped to #15 for the week of November 3rd, 2014, after rising up to #9 last week from #19 the previous week on the JazzWeek charts.

EVANSTON (IL) – “My Shining Hour,” the hit album by Jazz guitarist Bobby Broom and the Bobby Broom Trio, zoomed to #3 on this week’s JazzWeek chart of the top 50 albums in the U.S. and Canada.
The songs on the album are all very fresh takes on classics whose names may be shopworn, like “Sweet Georgia Brown,” but, in the thoughtful and thought-provoking hands of a guitarist of the caliber of Bobby Broom, they develop a new look in a brighter light.
The album debuted at #41. The CD, which had been on pre-sale, sold out at most of the major outlets within 9 days. MSH climbed to #22 in the second week, then zoomed up the charts to #5, where it remained for a second week. Last week it dropped a touch to #6, then on the current week, it soared up to the top three.

Jazz guitarist Bobby Broom‘s 11th album, “My Shining Hour,” is now the #5 Jazz album in America, according to JazzWeek.
The album, which features Broom and The Bobby Broom Trio, which includes Dennis Carroll on bass and Makaya McCraven on drums, debuted three weeks ago on the JazzWeek Chart at #41, moved up to #22 last week, and is now at #5 in the September 1st release of the JazzWeek Rankings.

JazzWeek announced for the week of August 18th that Bobby Broom’s new album, “My Shining Hour” with Makaya McCraven on drums and Dennis Carroll on bass, was the biggest gainer (+70) for the week AND was the #1 most added for the second week in a row!
